This is the received King Wen sequence (文王卦序), the order the hexagrams have appeared in for over two thousand years. It is not ranked by importance: the first two establish the poles (pure yang, pure yin), pairs like Zhun/Meng (3/4) show difficulty at the start, and the final pair Ji Ji/Wei Ji (63/64) closes the book on "already across / not yet across."

How to use this list
Keywords are starting points, not verdicts. When a casting gives you a hexagram, find its number here, read the keyword, then read the full judgment and any moving lines. The keyword tells you the weather; the judgment tells you what to wear.
